Announcement of New President Director
Jakarta, 14th April 2023 – PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter the “BJP”) as the project company of Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project and PT. Bhumi Jepara Service (hereinafter the “BJS”) as the operation and maintenance company of the TJB5&6 are pleased to announce that the President Director of BJP/BJS was changed from Mr. Shinji Yokota to Mr. Taichi Ichise who has been acting as a Functional Manager of the Sumi Energy Ventures LLC, one of the sponsor company of BJP/BJS. Mr. Yokota finished his assignment as a President Director and he was transferred to the head quarter of Sumitomo Corporation in Tokyo.
Mr. Yokota has spent the past 11 years working for development of TJB5&6 and has made several great accomplishments. He has started development of TJB5&6, by issuing an expression of interest to PLN for promotion of the project in May 2012. Thereafter, BJP/BJS were established, PPA, EPC and Finance contracts were signed, finance close was achieved and EPC works commenced in March 2017. He has led the project as a President Director of BJP and BJS with strong leadership and BJP/BJS overcame various difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic, achieved Project Commercial Operation Date on 30th September 2022. Currently, BJP/BJS have more than 300 employees in total, operation and maintenance structure has been established, and power plant have been operated in stable condition providing reliable electricity with high efficiency to the grid.
Mr. Ichise has a vast experience of working in management roles in various IPP Projects across South East Asia including Indonesia, thus Mr. Yokota is confident that BJP/BJS would maintain a sustainably strong business including relation with all parties through assignment of Mr. Ichise. The message from new President Directors follows as below.
Mr. Ichise comments that “I am delighted to take over President Director of BJP and BJS today from Mr. Yokota. Last Year, we achieved one of the biggest milestones, COD, and move to operation phase. I am going to devote myself to making this project good and better and contributing to the growth of Indonesia.”
BJP/BJS are committed to advancing and improving the operation of the Plant and management of the company operation further that Mr. Yokota has built so far, contribute to economic growth and social development in Indonesia under the leadership of new President Director, Mr. Ichise.
