Towards a Clean Indonesia: Spirit of Change through Beach Clean Up Day
Jepara, September 26, 2025 – To commemorate World Clean Up Day 2025, PT Bhumi Jati Power (“BJP”) conducted the beach clean-up event on Friday, September 26, 2025. This event was taking place at Pailus Beach, Karanggondang Village, Mlonggo District, Jepara Regency. The event was the 4th since 2022, having been previously conducted at Ombak Mati Beach, Bondo Village (2022), Prawean Beach, Bandengan Village (2023), and Tanggultlare Beach, Tanggultlare Village (2024).
This year, the theme of World Clean Up Day 2025 was "Towards a Clean Indonesia 2029”. Through this theme, it is expected that the movement is not just a daily clean-up, but a sustainable movement that leads to a waste-free Indonesia by 2029.
This event was attended by more than 150 participants from various elements, such as the Representative of BJP & BJS Employees and Management, Jepara Environmental Agency (DLH Jepara), Karanggondang Village Government, and the Representative of the Local Community. BJP handed over donations to the Village government and community with a total of 50 trash bins and four (4) warning signs.
The event was opened by several speeches, beginning with Mrs. Rini Patmini, as the Head of the Jepara Regency Environmental Agency. She said, “The cleanliness and environmental preservation are a shared responsibility. We appreciate the activities that the BJP initiates to conduct the World Clean Up Day 2025 event. We believe that environmental awareness starts with a small step, which is from ourselves by handling our own waste at home,".
Continued speech delivered by Mr. Hadi Suwasono as the BJP Management Representative, “The event is the 4th event conducted since 2022, and we expect that the event is not limited to a ceremonial event only, but also to increase the environmental awareness from the community, especially in Pailus Beach, Karanggondang Village,” he said.
In the end, Mr. Ichiro Usui, GM of Planning and Coordination of BJS, gave the sharing experience session to all the participants. Based on the previous cleaning event in North Jakarta and committed sustainable development in Indonesia by Sumitomo Corporation, He emphasized that the collaboration of all parties is needed for environmental awareness. “We believe that sustainability is not just a corporate responsibility. It is a shared mission that connects the company with the communities. We are proud to contribute to the country’s development through various initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and long-term prosperity”.
Pailus Beach is selected as the location of this year’s World Clean-Up Day event, as the BJP has established a strong relationship with the fishermen in the area through the Milkfish Cultivation Program, which commenced in 2024. The BJP will continue to commit to contributing to environmental preservation.
