BJS General Cleaning & Housekeeping to Celebrate the World Environment Day
Jepara, 10th June 2022 – PT Bhumi Jepara Service (hereinafter “BJS”) as the O&M Company for Tanjung Jati B Expansion Unit 5 & 6 (Jawa 4) conducted General Cleaning and Housekeeping on 10th of June 2022 by around 50 participants in the Boiler and Turbine area of Unit 5 as event of World Environment Day.
With reference to Covid-19 and health and safety protocol, the “General Cleaning” was held requiring all participants to wear masks and other PPE such as safety shoes, goggles, and hand gloves.
“Maintaining a clean and tidy worksite is one of the priority focus areas in a well-run powerplant. Establishing and maintaining TJB 5&6 as a clean worksite enhances the safety and wellbeing for BJS personnel, contractors and visitors, plus it can also help reduce our impact on the local community and demonstrates the pride our BJS team have in their workplace. Having general cleaning & housekeeping as a World Environment Day reinforces that good environmental performance can often start with actions that are small in scale and local in impact, and that individual actions can contribute to our natural world environment”. said John Smart, Station Manager of BJS.
Ari Wibawa Nurma Saputra, as the HSE-CSR Manager, stated that “General Cleaning and housekeeping event is our first step towards to celebrate World Environment Day in BJP/BJS, hopefully this event can increase the environmental awareness of our employee and create the good housekeeping of our premises. We will continuously establish more program and positive environmental action to support global environmental awareness”.
Another participant who joined the event, Gilang Lukito as Performance Staff said “The general cleaning activity could make the work area more comfortable and cleaner. Hopefully this activity can be participated by more employees and become a regular agenda in the future”.
The Project achieved Unit Commercial Operation Date (UCOD) of Unit 5 on 17th March 2022 and expected to achieve the completion of Plant construction and commissioning in the end of June 2022.
