Generator on Base was celebrated at the Ceremony
Jepara, 2nd July 2019 – Generator on Base Ceremony was held at the Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project site to celebrate the successful placement of a generator for the unit 5. The ceremony was hosted by Toshiba, the supplier of generator, and attended by approximately 100 guests from stakeholders including PT. PLN (Persero) (hereinafter “PLN”), PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”), PT. Bhumi Jepara Service (hereinafter “BJS”), Sumitomo Corporation, The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., PT. United Tractors Tbk. and others.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Komang, General Manager of Tanjung Jati B of PLN said, “With unit 5 and 6, Tanjung Jati B will be the biggest power complex in terms of capacity in Java-Bali Grid, or even in Indonesia. That fact makes us proud of this power plant and I hope this power plant will create positive impacts such as reducing fuel cost and supporting Java-Bali Grid by supplying additional power. We appreciate hard work and dedication of everyone involved and hope the success of this project”.
Mr. Yokota, President Director of BJP, followed with a comment, “I would really like to express my sincere appreciation to all the parties that have been involved to achieve this milestone. In next one year, we will have important milestones and I really hope EPC contractors can keep this good progress and achieve all these milestones on time, as well as maintaining high standard of work execution, quality control, and safety. We wish that we can deliver highly efficient power plant and provide stable power to the grid in timely manner, which we believe will contribute to enrich the living standard of local communities and further economic growth of Indonesia”.
Following the speeches from honored guests, “Kagami Biraki”, a Japanese traditional ceremony to open a wooden sake barrel with a mallet, and an Indonesian traditional ceremony “Sharing Nasi Tumpeng” were held to celebrate the achievement, and the Indonesian-Japanese mixed ceremony ended with a prayer for safety and on-time completion of construction.
We will strive to keep good progress of construction and prepare for commencement of the commercial operation scheduled in 2021.
