BJP Fosters Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
Jepara, 4th February 2021 - PT. Bhumi Jati Power (hereinafter “BJP”) as the project company of Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 & 6 Project (hereinafter the “Project”) has started to foster Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (hereinafter “SMEs”) in the surrounding area of the Project. Our target is, through the growth of SMEs, to encourage local community to expand and grow their business, creativity and innovation, and also to provide a positive impact to the welfare of the local community. This program is also in line with the national program in Indonesia.
BJP has already supported 5 SMEs that run the business in cultivation of catfish, herbal plant, mushroom, hydroponic vegetable and horticulture products, which consist of various type of support including support to facilities, marketing activities, trainings and competency developments. In marketing activities, BJP encourages to utilize social media and e-commerce, including Shopee and Rojokupedia (Jepara online shopping site) in addition to expansion in the local traditional market.
One of the SMEs fostered by BJP is TUNAS HARAPAN and GAMCELO in Tubanan Village, which is managed by youth group from the local community and focus on the hydroponic cultivation of green lettuce, mustard green, spinach etc. Hydroponic cultivation has many advantages, such as faster growth of vegetables, maximum harvest from limited space, eco-friendly and low-cost production. BJP is supporting the marketing activities and development of derivative products, such as chips and frozen vegies, so that their products can be widely sold outside Tubanan Village as well.
Mr. Ari Wibawa as CSR Manager of BJP said “As we may know that nowadays people are increasingly realizing the importance of healthy lifestyle, and one of the ways is to consume healthy food and vegetables, we hope that our hydroponic products will be well-known not only in Tubanan Village but also overall Jepara Regency, and our activities will enable young people in the surrounding area of the Project to be more competitive and creative“.
BJP strives to continue this CSR program for fostering SMEs as a sustainability program, and continuously contribute to development of the local community.
